What makes a good brochure design?

Posted on 02/09/2013
Brochures, either on their own or in conjunction with other sales literature, remain an excellent method of promoting your company, products and services. To make the best impression a good brochure design is vital. Here are 6 tips to consider when creating your design: - What do you want to achieve: Before you begin consider what the aim of the brochure is and design accordingly. Do you want to educate or make a sale? For further help and advice with the design and production of your brochures, do not hesitate to contact our friendly team by calling 01603 488001 or by emailing us at websales@col-print.co.uk. - Do not cut corners: Never cut corners when it comes to imagery as good photos make a product brochure enjoyable to flick through. Try to avoid a reliance on stock images, or use images that don’t look like they are stock images. - How are you going to say it: Good copy is vital to the overall design concept and should be worked on from the early design stages to see what works. - Always consider your audience: When someone receives your brochure what will it say to them? Always produce a brochure that will appeal to your audience, not to you. - Keep it simple: Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective. Avoid clichéd images. - Go with what works: Do not go for a wacky design just for the sake of it, or in the hope that it will get you noticed. Most designers stick to the same fonts because they are effective.
