A recent article by Katie Micquater on thedrum.com website invited a cross section of experts from both the print and digital industries to offer their opinions on how businesses can bring together their digital and print marketing campaigns in order to achieve the best results. In the article Jonathan Mitchell, managing director of Arjowiggins Creative Papers, cites research that has shown cross media marketing campaigns often deliver the highest response rates from consumers. He goes on to say that “powerfully designed, high quality print firmly establishes a brands positioning” and creates “an emotional bond and brand loyalty”, whilst digital is best used for “follow-up and immediate contact for news and brief information”. Marian Thomasson, marketing manager at Antalis UK, also believes there is room in a company’s marketing strategy for both print and digital, with both having “many benefits”. She thinks brand owners should look at how best they can bring together the strengths of both mediums to maximise the potential of their marketing campaign.
