In the build-up to Christmas, any number of small art markets and craft fairs pop up in public spaces. For shoppers, the stalls at these fairs are a great place to find works of art and handmade trinkets that make unique presents. For the stallholders, it is often a good way to make a bit of money from your hobby. For those who seek to make a living out of the craft fair circuit, printed marketing materials are essential, but even hobbyists can use them to increase sales. Here’s how:
Business Cards
Business cards represent the bare minimum of marketing that can be done on the day of a craft fair. Pop one in a bag with each purchase. The buyer may get home and feel remorseful that they did not buy more than one item! If they haven’t got your contact details, then they can’t act on their impulse. You should also encourage people who have expressed an interest, but to whom you have not made a sale, to take one lest they change their mind and want to contact you.
Brochures
You may not be able to display all of your wares on the small table that has been allocated to you at an arts and craft fair. You may wish to give interested browsers a brochure that details the broader scope of your work. Perhaps have a display of your more recent artworks and let the brochure work as a retrospective. Good images that show your work in its best light are essential to an appealing brochure. If you need any help with design, we have a team of in-house designers that can help you optimise your concept for print.
Bags and Wrapping Paper
At these events, it always helps to make a person feel like they that their purchase is a little present. Why not incorporate your branding into distinctive wrapping paper or a bag that people can take away their purchases in? They will be walking around the rest of the craft fair carrying a little advert for your stall. Other punters will subconsciously take in the fact that your stall is popular and may be encouraged to make a purchase for themselves.
Banners and Backdrops
To really make your stall stand out, we can supply printed banners and backdrops. These would probably suit the more corporate end of the market. People who do a lot of fairs, and who perhaps make a living out of it, could quickly see a return on investment as increased visibility leads to increased sales.
