Time has almost run out to get your flyers out in time for Christmas. With only 3 weeks until the festive day is upon us, if you are looking to promote your products or upcoming event now is the time to have your material printed. With so many others in your industry promoting their Christmas material, there is a greater need for you to stand out during this festive period so be sure to use the following steps to help stay ahead of the competition.
1. Use as much colour as you can
Advertising with leaflets the rest of the year is a very serious and official affair – you need to promote your company as one that is serious, knows what they are doing and why customers should consider you over others. Christmas is a happy time where we can afford to be colourful and fun instead, so use colour where you can in your promotional flyers. Add a touch of red and green for some traditional festive cheer or maybe use cool blues and whites to create a cold and snowy feel – just make sure not to overdo it though; you still need to be somewhat professional after all.
2. Print with a surprise
Printing a flyer where all of the information is given to the reader upfront doesn't have as much impact as one where the information is hidden. A flyer where some of the key information is located on the reverse side or a folded leaflet where the information is on the inside can encourage the reader to give it a thorough look. If this hidden information is a nice surprise too, such as a special discount or offer, they will be even happier they took the time to take and read your flyer.
3. Offers attract customers
Speaking of offers, be sure to promote them as best you can. Everyone loves a good sale so including information about a promotion on your flyer is a great way to drive up business during this time of year – better yet, only make the offer applicable if the customer hands over the flyer at the time of purchase to make designing that perfect flyer more important.
4. Make a connection
Flyers are often designed to have as little information as possible and yet be attractive enough to entice people to read more – too much information and it becomes too much to read, too little and your flyer becomes worthless and looks uninformative. Christmas is a time built around storytelling where people tell traditional festive tales and families gather to reminisce about the past. Use this to your advantage and create a flyer that shares your story, making a connection with your readers that will make you seem endearing.
5. Be creative
Don't be confined by any self-imposed rules and regulations of flyer printing. Christmas is a time where you can be creative and do whatever you want with your flyer so be sure to think outside the box. The trend seems to be that the quirkier and more interesting your idea, the more likely it will be to catch the attention of a potential customer.
