Top 5 Christmas Adverts

Posted on 08/12/2014
We're all aware that Christmas is around the corner and this is made even more apparent by your local town turning their Christmas lights on, your work colleagues wearing novelty Christmas jumpers and your mum spending the majority of the weekend getting the decorations in order and putting the Christmas tree up. This time of year gives companies a great reason to think of a new and innovative way to advertise their brand and put a festive spin on it. There have been many brilliant Christmas advertisements in the past and there will be many more to come. To get us in the Christmas spirit we thought we would share with you our favourite Christmas adverts: Hellmann's
This advert is really fun and shows that even Santa needs a break sometimes. It's a nice way to use their slogan 'have a break have a KitKat' and with Santa's beard hanging on the chair gives a nice festive touch to the advert. It has a visual impact and is very funny. KitKat
This advertisement is very bold and confident making the consumer aware that Hellmann's is the best and only mayonnaise for Christmas. They've created an image of Santa out of a dollop of mayonnaise making the advert fun and festive, staying true to their slogan – 'Bring out the best'. Veet
At a first glance, all you see is a very sad and bald Christmas tree but if you take a closer look you can see the tube of Veet in the corner. This is a brilliant advert and gets the point across as to what Veet does as a product, even if it is slightly exaggerated. For those of you who don't know what Veet is, it's a hair removal cream and this innovative way of advertising their product is fantastic. Heineken
Making people aware of drink driving is certainly heightened during the festive period and so this advert although in keeping with the festive theme it's also getting an important point across. Everyone likes a drink at Christmas time and Heineken want people to enjoy their beer but they also want people to stay safe unlike Santa has in this advert. He clearly had one too many mulled wines whilst out on delivery! If you showed someone the McDonalds emblem they would know exactly what it is. McDonalds has got to be of the most powerful and recognisable advertisers in the world so they don't need to create a complex advert for Christmas. This simple Christmas tree made from chips gets the festive message across and is very effective. McDonalds
