Recycled paper and card don't have to look recycled, but there are sometimes sound reasons for wanting that ‘recycled’ look. For instance, it is an easy and affordable way to reinforce an eco-friendly brand image.
We recently worked with designers at Rowl & Co. to print packaging information labels onto recycled Cairn Eco Kraft paper. Rowl & Co came to us for expertise in finding the best paper and organic inks to reinforce the environmental promise of their client Natures Fuels. Natures Fuels supply sustainable wood burning products to the domestic and camping markets.
Cairn Eco Kraft is made from 100% recycled fibre, most of which is ‘low grade’ mechanical waste. The resulting paper is an interesting, tactile, bulky brown paper and board with an organic feel. In the past, we’ve used it for all kinds of purposes, including:
- Greeting cards
- Postcards
- Folders
- Tags
- Presentation items
- Book covers.
This Kraft paper is FSC 85% RECYCLED, meaning 85% of the product is FSC accredited and the remaining 15% is non-FSC grade post consumer waste. The manufacturing process is entirely free of chlorine - a chemical the use of which can have a huge environmental impact.
Kraft paper and card is available in a range of weights and thicknesses. Our suppliers keep it stocked in 100, 130, 170, 225 and 280gsm.
