At Colour Print, we’re a committed to being an environmental print company. In the past, printing has been an industry that wasted a lot of paper and produced chemical waste. However, the print industry is changing and Colour Print is one of the companies leading the way to a more sustainable future.
Recycling Waste Paper and Card
When we cut something to a particular size for a client – particularly when we’re creating a unique shape with die cutting techniques – there are bound to be trimmings. This waste paper doesn’t have to go to landfill; we send it to be recycled into more usable paper.
Switching to Vegetable-based Dyes
Where possible, we minimise the use of chemicals and use the latest vegetable-based dyes. These modern natural dyes produce vivid colours and any wastage decomposes naturally.
Energy Efficiency
As one of the largest industries in the UK, the paper and printing industry uses a lot of energy. At Colour Print, we aim to be as energy efficient as possible and we have made a commitment to becoming carbon neutral. A key part of this is choosing print machinery based on their energy efficiency, and using our equipment effectively.
Working with Charity
We work with rainforest conservation organisation the World Land Trust to ensure our paper comes from sustainable sources. The World Land Trust, whose official patrons include Sir David Attenborough and Steve Backshall, protects the most biologically important habitats on the planet.
