The government are a little stingy with bank holidays. We only get 8 a year (compare that with Scotland: 10, and the Republic of Ireland: 11). On top of that, 4 of ours are in the same season and 2 of them are attached to the same weekend: Easter. Egg-Laying Bunnies

Design is an important element in your Easter print promotions. There are plenty of tropes to choose from. Iconography associated with the holiday range from the religious symbols such as the cross to the rather more frivolous: eggs and bunnies. In terms of marketable images for your promotional materials, egg-laying bunnies have a more universal appeal.  

Easter Competitions

Guess the weight of the Simnel cake may have gone the way of the Imperial measurements that the guesses were figured in, but there are a variety of Easter games that have remained popular.  Organising an Easter Egg hunt (that starts and ends in your store) is a great way to increase footfall. Other popular games such as Lucky Dip and Tombola are cheap to organise and fun to play. Use end-of-line stock for prizes.

Pester Power

The Easter holiday is a family holiday. The adults may want to use the bank holiday to catch up on long-delayed DIY tasks or shopping, but the kids are off school and require entertaining at the same time. Your promotional materials and Easter competitions may enable grateful grown-ups to kill two birds with one stone. Don’t be afraid to exploit pester power to further your sales.
