Attracting the Crowds
On Boxing Day, the streets are going to be crowded with shoppers looking for the best bargains. Everybody knows that the big chains are having their sales. Smaller outlets can’t afford to advertise during the latest Marvel Film being shown on ITV on Christmas afternoon, but you can take advantage of the crowds passing your door by having attractive Print Advertising that will lure them in!
Big Bold Advertising
Discounting alone won’t get people in your store – you need to tell people that you are discounting. There’s no need to be subtle here. You need the print equivalent of shouting: signage that unambiguously tells people that they will save money by shopping in your store. The bigger the better. The bolder the better. If you are offering 50% off selected items, make the focus of the sign the ‘50% Off’ – ‘selected items’ can be in much smaller type.
Printed Gift Vouchers
Many January shoppers are out spending gift vouchers that they have received for Christmas. Larger outlets have universally adopted the gift card or even some kind of smartphone app. However, the traditional printed gift voucher has great scope for expressing the individuality of a smaller business (and they make better presents!)
